Karin Tidbeck’s fiction has been praised by famous authors like Ursula K. Le Guin, China Miéville, Michael Swanwick and Karen Joy Fowler, and she received rave reviews for her first collection in English, Jagannath, which went on to win the Crawford Award 2013. It also made the honor list for the Tiptree Award 2012.

Several of her recent short stories can be found online:
Sing, Tor.com, 2013
A Fine Show on the Abyssal Plain, Lightspeed Magazine, 2013
I Have Placed My Sickness Upon You, Strange Horizons, 2013

Karin Tidbeck won’t be the only Swedish author at Fantasticon 2013 since we have also added Nene Ormes to our guest list. She is the author of two fantasy novels in Swedish, Udda verklighet and Särskild, and is a member of the jury for the Tiptree Award 2013.

Finally, we can announce our first Danish guest, Peter Adolphsen, who is the author of the science fiction short novel, År 9 efter Loopet (Year 9 After the Loop), which was published earlier this year to great acclaim.
